Streamlet — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

Streamlet ("the app") is an ad-free, third-party client for watching and listening to YouTube content, developed and maintained by Humayun Ahmed ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and — most importantly — where it is stored. In short: the app runs entirely on your device, and we do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your personal data.

Data the app accesses

Most of Streamlet works with no account at all. Signing in with Google is optional and used solely to bring your own YouTube subscriptions into the app.

How your data is used

Limited Use disclosure. Streamlet's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the app's user-facing features, is never transferred to others except as required to operate those features on your device, is never used for advertising, and is never sold.

Where your data is stored

Everything the app remembers is stored in Streamlet's private storage on your device. We do not run any backend server, and your account data, subscriptions, history, and library are never transmitted to us or to any third party operated by us. Access tokens issued by Google are held only on your device and are used only to make read-only requests to YouTube on your behalf.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. The only network requests the app makes are directly between your device and Google/YouTube (to sign in and to fetch the content you request), which are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Analytics, ads, and tracking

Streamlet contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking or profiling SDKs. Diagnostic/crash information, if any, stays on your device and is shown to you in the app; it is not sent anywhere automatically.

Retaining and deleting your data

Children's privacy

Streamlet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
